The way of Samurai – Part 1

So…

Yesterday has been a great day. I was resting for the first time at La Theine Plateau, soloing, when I received a /tell asking me to party at Dunes.

A quick /sea teaches me the guy is Rank 8, Paladin at the same level as me and leveled sub (don’t forget we’re talking about the Dunes) so I gave it a try.

Best move of the day.

Party setup was: PLD SAM PUP WAR RDM BRD

+ a RDM Power Leveler.

 I loved being the one who pulls hate only by his DoT, who has to pop Third Eye before every WeaponSkill because it WILL pull hate – if my Elvaan Accuracy allows it… That’s some fresh air!

We averaged 7-7,5k exp/hour and I went from 14 to 19 in a single evening, and capped my Great Katana skill at the same time.

So, it will soon be time to camp Valkurm Emperor… I’m not looking forward, trust me.

After this infamous 0/11 on Leaping Lizzy, who can pop twice within a hour, I can already feel the pain… Maybe I should try to hire some THF from the LS, or sacrifice 7 virgin Mithras at the top of Ro’Maeve at Midnight a Full Moon day, while touching Ebon Panels with my Justice Sword…?

Who knows…. I might need this kind of stuff to un-curse me…

Some News, and the way of Samurai

Wow, 4 months… I’m getting better at this game…

OK, so what happened since then?

Ohhhhhh, several things Ma’am!

Looking at the pic of my gear in the previous post, I can tell you there have been some adjustments…

Homam Cosciales – Homam Gambieras – Homam Zucchetto… yeah I know, Zucchetto… and Justice Sword.  My DD gear is kinda good now…

I also upgraded to Gallant Surcoat +1 and sold Adaman, since Xarcabard refuses to give me a nice Valor Surcoat…

Dynamis Xarcabard… We finally defeated Dynamis Lord, at our 2nd attempt… It still takes us too much time to sort PTs before him, but we should soon be able to get him down and continue to farm the zone…

On the news side, we also defeated Jormungand, to Kyata’s great sadness since he couldn’t be there. That’s my revenge for Proto-Ultima, Taru!!!!

As you can see, Cetra is going well, we know have a big roster (40ppl yesterday at Kirin, I expect roughly the same number at Dynamis-Windy today…), we’re having fun and we are quite successful so far…

Now, my new love: Samurai.

I’ve always been attracted by this job, and I finally unlocked it last week. This is official, SAM will be my next 75. For the moment, I solo as SAM/WHM, eating Rolandberry Pies. Mobs die fast enough, and my Parrying skill is good enough too to make this combo efficient for the moment. This is relaxing, and I net 3k – 3,5k exp solo at lvl14, it could be far worst at Valkurm Dunes…

Leaping Lizzy didn’t drop for me in… 8, 9 claims over a week-end? So we went to a BC run with Seedz and Tilion (and Pindaro a bit later), and Boots dropped at our first orb. Nothing the 5 next….

So let’s summarize what gear to camp and jobs to have to pimp my SAM:

Gear pre-50:

• Katayama Ichimonji, lvl10 GKatana
• Bounding / Leaping Boots (Thanks Tilion!)
• Empress / Emperor Hairpin
• Ochimusha / Ochiudo’s Kote
• Sarutobi / Fuma Kyahan
• Jujitsu Gi
• Subs: DRG – THF – RNG

Please note that all the equipements I have to camp are awfully famous for their crappy drop rate… But I will camp them with Kirst, since she wills to level her SAM too! This will be pleasent (and even better if we get our drops quickly lol).

And I’m crying in anticipation to level both THF and DRG to 37… Both can be asked in EXP.. But well I’ll need these for End-Game anyway so…

Next target: Empress Hairpin.

I need as many Accuracy as I can with my stupid Elvaan DEX, and this piece will be sexy at lvl. 24… I don’t want to be one of these STR-only SAMs who hit like a truck as often as Georges W. Bush receives a Peace or Physics Noble Price…

I’ll try to keep this up to date, with my recent claims, my undoubtful whinings about drop rates needing an adjustment, bla bla bla…

When CS pimps his Frenchy…

Yeah, I know, long time without any update, I fail. As usual. Be please understand I love my laziness. Really, I do. So don’t be mean with it.

So what’s going on in Cetra, heh?

Well… Some exciting stuff tbh.

Let’s begin with Sky. You know, this place overcrowded by BLM Tarus and Galka Paladins, where you can find “cheap” Byakko Haidates and Kirin Osodes….? You see?

As you know if you are not lazy (only MY laziness is acceptable), and read the previous posts, we manage to get some Haidates and nice stuff from the 4 directionnal gods.

But it was time to play a higher level and decided to attempt Kirin (read: our inventories were full and we wanted to get rid of these God seals).

Kirin. This bitch never dropped his Wyrmal Abjuration: Legs for me. It was time to get my revenge, to stab him in the  back, to catch her sister in a dark cave, TO SEND HIM A BUNCH OF GAY AND PERVERTS GALKAS TO xxxx AND yyyy HIM, TO…………….. OK, calm down… I think you got the point!

I could not be there for the first ones CS popped (damn rl job), and was expecting to see Crimson Cuisses all around the LS when I logged back. But no, Kirin was just holding them. So we headed there back, and this time, we used MY seals. It was now or never, I knew it. Regarding the nice moon ( a marvelous 7% ), it would more than likely be never.

Never mind, I trade and start to kite… Everything is good, people take care of summons, they die fast. Very fast. I didn’t know summons were shouting help when they die btw… Wait…. These are not Summons! These are my Tanks!!!! Kirin got us there, summoning Suzaku and Byakko within 1-2min, and I had to jump in main ally to tank. Needless to say I got my share of death (only one!), but after some kiting experience, we managed to clear the room.

Back to Kite PT, and let’s have fun again! The kitty was not in a good mood this time… Maybe he didn’t enjoy being bound by a NIN/DRK, or blinded by a PLD/NIN’s ninjutsu… Well, when you get nervous, you don’t focus, and this kind of thing happens, kitty:

Oh well, never mind… Die. DIE SLOWLY. A pinch of Diabolos, another of Blizzard IV, some nice Skillchains, and the BioTch dies. woot. crappy pool, as usual heh?

But is this enough? Do you really think Crimson Cuisses are a worthy reason to fight my legendary laziness? Answer: yes, it is. But it’s easier when there are other news.

Yeah, Cetra finally did its very first Proto-Omegas. Unfortunately, I don’t have all the pics yet, but in 3 runs we got:

2 Bodies (Muzashi, Bayan)

2 Heads (Tilion, Maarc)

1 Legs (ME)

What a month for me! I will try to get some nice ScreenShots and update this update (oh Irony), but I already thank the whole LS for their commitment and their greetings.

Now, let’s use this gear to pimp them!

Early Frenchy catch the Wyrm

Last week, we decided to fund our members a bit.  What’s the best to do so? Camp NMs? Farm as LS? lol…

Konoha used to do only Chlevnik. Since we have huge e-peens (and Spartin willing to sponsor the Trial Run!), it was time to face a big ugly wyrm: The Wyrm.

Please note SE’s innovation mind here btw.

This was the first fight of this kind for several new members, and they had to learn fast. Wyrm considering you learn faster in the death, he decided to help them a bit. Theona and Lilseph learnt a lot this day… lol

   All in all, the fight was easy. With only one run planned, we chainspell-stunned him while he was flying, and Spartin and I duo tanked him quite well for a first time together (and a first time for Spartin as NIN/DRK).

                    

Crappy drops ftl…

No Speed Belt for the Taru… Let’s hope it will drop for my orb next week!

We then headed to Ghelsba Outpost for some Chlevniks, but drops were quite crap too, and we enountered some problems with the last one… Oh well, shit happens…

We also went back to sky for some Haidates and other stuff… Zenith hands and Byakko’s Haidates are the most impressive drops we got this evening…

          

However, I found a way to intimidate Byakko!!! (The problem being that he really doesnt like it, and decided to have some Elvaan for Breakfast afterwards….)

Welcome!

Well, I guess it’s finally time for me to take a blog again… Thank you Nag for motivating (threatening?) me!

So, what’s up since the last update of my former lost blog?

Sea & Dynamis Xarc access… A new LS… Some nice solo gear too. Oh and BRD73

The biggest change lately has been the death of Konoha.
It was really a hard decision to accept, but there was no other choice… Former leaders harrassing us, blaming us to “have lost the spirit of what we tried to build”. You know what guys? If you really wanted to do something of Konoha, why did you leave? Heh?

Well, it was time for us to choose a new Leader.

I enjoy this entry to talk a bit about this. Being a Shellholder is just a horrid job. When I say horrid, I mean really horrid.
When everything is OK, it is thanks to everyone. When there is something wrong, you’re the one everyone points at, or you’re the one who has to handle everything. I understand Kirstie to have decided to leave us afterwards. And I apologize at the same time, I feel like I pushed you to accept this task…

So, who is the SM who accepted to become the new Mega Boss? The ubber, the pimp, the super-dwarf taru Kyata(sutorofii).

Tbh, he does a really great job, definitely better than many people could ever do. Thumbs up for you Kya!

The first event as Cetra Sanctuary was this ugly Dynamis that was preventing half the LS to have Dynamis-Beaucedine Access: Dynamis-Windurst. We entered with roughly… 22 people… And cleared. Nice start!!!

Now, we will switch to 2 Dynamis per week, one City for our new members, one Northlands for everyone who can. My buffer is  already cursing me.

We also farm Sky, with Genbus, Byakkos.. well, whatever we can find. Our last runs rewarded Raana and Dense with beautiful Byakko’s haidates, gratz you 2!

Pour also some Limbus here and then for the few people with Access (we should be able to gather 10ppl down here, but no way to all be online at the same time), and you have a common week in Cetra…
